 Comfortable AccommodationFew visitors to England have the opportunity to stay in a thatched country house. We personally welcome you to Church House, our charming family home. It is a former farmhouse dating from 1740, a building of Historic and Architectural interest, Under its huge thatched roof it is full of old world character but has all the modern comforts.It is situated at the edge of the village, near the lovely ancient church. Guests can relax in our secluded gardens, perhaps with a game of croquet, overlooking the lush valley of the River Stour across to the bare heights of Hambledon Hill crowned with its massive Iron Age fort. A glorious walk for the more energetic! There are three private suites for guests, double, twin or triple each with their own bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, and one with a four poster bed. There is a large guests' sitting room with a log fire, T.V., lots of books, maps and guides. Meals are served in the cosy beamed dining room with its huge old fireplace. All rooms are very comfortably furnished in traditional country style with many antiques, paintings and rustic bygones. We are sure you will enjoy the relaxed informal atmosphere of an English country house.
Fine FoodAn essential part of an enjoyable holiday. We aim for very high standards, using fruit and vegetables from our own kitchen garden and fresh produce from local farms and markets.To start the day a traditional English breakfast. A picnic basket or light "pub" lunch in the middle of the day, and a delicious four course candle-lit dinner in the evening. Vegetarian options and special diets provided with advance notice.
Affordable PricesOur holidays are not expensive as our price is all inclusive; escorted tours, very comfortable en suite accommodation, all meals, entry fees, etc. Only personal spending money is required. The cost is based on the number in your party and the length of your stay. |
